Fall Festival

Our town's fall festival was tonight. Kaitlin went as a beautiful lady bug, Jonathan was a mighty Power Ranger and I was the Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly (from the song). Charles was just the guy holding the camera!

Ha Ha Ha

I just walked in to the bathroom. Jonathan is sitting on the toilet and he has my hand held mirror. I said, "What are you doing son?" He said, "I'm just practicing my smile!" I stood back outside the door and watched him. Yep, that's what he's doing - practicing his best smile while using the toilet. Multitasking at its best.

Pumpkin Carving At Kaitlin's School

We had a blast carving a pumpkin for Kaitlin's class today! I have some super pictures, but there are other kids in the pictures and I don't want to post them here.

I read from the books "Pumpkin Hill" and "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat"

Here's my new old lady and a pumpkin shot. (It's the least I can blog).

What A Moon

So this is who's responsible for the wild kiddos today! Just Kidding....but what a MOON tonight!

Most of these photos are unedited, but it doesn't do justice to how pretty the moon was as it was rising tonight.

Beautiful Cotton Feilds

We are so blessed to live in a place this beautiful. The cotton is amazing right now. I get to drive around looking at this every day! I've been meaning to take pictures for a few weeks now, but I just haven't gotten around to doing it. When I got home from work today, the sky was just too pretty to resist. So here are at least a few pictures of the cotton right across the street from our house. I will try to get more in town soon (It's giant there!) I hope you enjoy the pictures. A few of you have requested them - so here ya go:)
Oh and you get a bonus self-portrait of my handsome hubby and me.

Haircut Time

I am getting a haircut this Friday. Any ideas? I'm thinking of doing a little side sweeping bangs action. I haven't had bangs since 6th grade, so nothing to traumatic! Here's one picture I found - although I can't stand hair in my eyes. Help me out here! Just remember that I have thin hair and I want to keep my longest layer the length it is. You can see my current hair length in K's b-day party blog.

Birthday By Request

The Cake and Punch Table. I hadn't put the punch in the punch bowl yet, but it was of course pink and bubbly.

Present Time!

Doing the Cha Cha Slide. This was so much fun that we did the whole song twice (not a short little shuffle, my friends)

More Cha Cha Slide

My friend Sue who took the pictures (Charles took this one)

Making Our Princess Crowns. They each had a little pink tulle pouch with stick on jewels to decorate their crowns. They were so precious.

Craft and Cake Table

Musical Chairs - I love the movement in the this picture.

Pull String Pinata. It busted on the second pull!

Make a Wish!

Getting Ready for the Party! The Princess Crown!

This is the frog I made for Pin the Kiss on the Frog. You can't see them in this picture, but their were big hot pink lips to stick on and the girls wore the hot pink mask (which didn't blind them very well!)

Here's the little prince. Can anyone argue that he looks like Indiana Jones in this picture!

A picture of the whole party before it started. Notice the throne chair.

Can't wait for the party to start. I have to say that I was proud of this year's cake!

I have been repremanded for my lack of a birthday party blog! In all the craziness of the weekend, I just skipped it, but by request - I am posting it now!!! (Because someone is waiting impatiently - lol). The party was so much fun. I was so busy with the party that I didn't have much time to get behind the camera, but my friend Sue jumped in and took quite a few pictures for us. Here are a few to show what we did. I should also include the party schedule simply because I use this blog as much journal and I got so teased for having a party schedule (hey - it sure helped). Sory, the pictures are not in order.

How to Tie Shoes?

Does anyone know any good rhymes or songs for teaching shoe tying. About 80% of my kindergartners this year cannot tie their shoe, and we've been working on it during stations. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I'll post more tomorrow if I get a chance,

What an amazing day!

The Cake

The next two days are going to be so hectic that I had to do the cake today. It's all tucked away in the church fridge with an invisible force feild around it! It took a good part of the morning (since I already had the layers baked and frozen), so here it is in its own special blog.

Stop Present Time

The Newest Magic Tree House book

The Pink Power Ranger Suit (I think this was her favorite)

Emily, the American Girl doll (you can see the excitement)

The Shrimp (her favorite)

Power Shrimp (of course)

Here are a few of the presents Kaitlin got along with her reactions.

Birthday Morning

Yesterday Kaitlin informed me that we have a tradition in our family where we open one present on the night before our birthday! Apparantly we have "Birthday Eve" around here. Last year she got to do this - so sure - it's a tradition. (I'm such a sucker!) Last night she got to open her new dry erase board with pink dry erase markers for her room. She was thrilled. This morning she opened a new Junie B. Jones book (one of the few missing from our collection), Junie B. Jones Aloha-ha. She said, "Now I have this at my actual house!" I laughed b/c that was such a "Junie B." thing to say.
At breakfast she got sang to by the whole elementary (something they do for all birthdays at her school). I took her out to lunch today where she got a new bracelet and found out she shares a birthday with a woman that turned 80 years old today, so that was special.
This afternoon I'm going to take cookies and juice to her classroom for an afternoon birthday snack. She also got a pink princess balloon boquet at school today.
Tonight we are having her favoritest thing to eat- shrimp! And when I get home from work (if she doesn't explode first) she gets to open her presents! What a big day!

Kaitlin's Birthday Blog

This sonogram picture was done when Kaitlin was only 2 weeks created. If you look very closely you can see her brain stem. The second picture is only a few weeks before she was born with Aunt Casie.

This is part of my awesome support team at the hospital. I treasure this picture. (notice you cannot see my face). The second picture is her first outing - 3 days old (going to the chiropractor).

Daddy's Girl. Man that baby was sweet. You can see her moon and stars nursery in the background. We have always told our kids and eachother, "I love you more than the moon and the stars!"

This is Kaitlin's one year old Christmas. Isn't she beautiful

Always so full of suprises - here is our little actress at two years old acting "suprised" for the camera! This was the year of the Holly Hobby Tea Party where Aunt Casie did a magic show.

Three years old and so beautiful. That year we had a ladybug party. That was the year that I had Jonathan (one month after her birthday). I can remember treasuring her last month as my only baby. She makes the best big sister!

Four years old! We did Strawberry Shortcake (which is what I had at 4 years old too). Note how skinny I am in this picture! This was such a fun and beautiful party. I wish I had more pictures from it.

Five years old! This was her first birthday in West Texas. We went to the Zoo with the Howe's in Dallas.

Six Years Old - the Cheer Party. That one was so much fun for all of us. I thought I would drown in a sea of orange before it was over. Look how gorgeous she is! Kindergarten will always be such a precious time in my memories of her growing up. It feels like I took this picture just a few months ago - not an entire year ago!

Now Seven Years Old!!! A true Princess. I couldn't be more proud of the person she is growing to be. What a blessing that this Sunday she will be baptized knowing that she is a real true princess - the daughter of the KING! Thank you God for our precious Kaitlin. Every year she grows more wonderful. I am so thankful that I get to be her mommie!!!
